Laurie Quam Petersen

Laurie suffered a stroke on Friday, August 5th. She was immediately brought in to the Fergus Falls Lake Region hospital emergency room where they did a procedure to remove/dissolve the clot that wasn't allowing blood flow to the right side of her brain. Sunday they discovered that her brain was swelling so she was air lifted to Essentia hospital in Fargo,ND where she underwent a surgery to remove a bone flap to allow for swelling. She also had a bolt in her head to allow constant monitoring of the pressure in brain. She had several CT scans and stayed in the Intensive care unit for seven days. She was then transferred to Good Samaritan Society in Battle Lake,MN for outpatient treatment. We are raising money to help with the medical expenses that have accumulated.
