Freddy and Jay Freeman Fire Relief and Rebuild

Hi everyone. I'm Adam B. Shapiro and I am creating this fundraiser to help out my dear friends Freddy and Jay Freeman, who recently had the horrifying experience of a fire in their home.

For anyone who might not know them, Freddy and Jay live at a retreat center in upstate New York called Easton Mountain, where they are instrumental in creating retreats for various LGBTQ+ groups and have helped to foster community and inclusivity for hundreds of people over the past ten years.

On November 16 of this year, following a power outage, a fire started in their kitchen that spread to various parts of their house. Luckily, neither of them was in the house at the time and suffered no injuries, but the fire and smoke caused quite a bit of damage and unfortunately killed their two beloved cats.

Currently, Freddy and Jay are living in a room in the guest house of Easton Mountain. The house is insured but will not be inhabitable for several months.

All donations will go to help replace belongings that were lost or damaged as a result of the fire, including bedroom and living room furniture, kitchenware and dishes, electronics, clothing, bedding, etc. Of course, some things with sentimental value can never be replaced, but with your help, they will be able to rebound and rebuild and continue the wonderful work they do for the LGBTQ+ community.
