3 Generation Army Veteran Trip to Revisit Korea
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Dave Hanson. My dad is John Hanson and my son is Nic Hanson. We are proud U.S. Army Veterans.
My dad and I both served our nation in Korea, my son in Iraq. Through the years my dad and I often talked about the idea of going back to see Korea again sometime. My dad will be 92 next month and has stage 4 cancer. We are members of the KDVA (Korean Defense Veteran's Association)
This year the KDVA is sponsoring a Revisit Korea Program for 23 Korea vets to go back there on October 23rd to October 29th 2022. So I signed up. As luck would have it they chose me.
They are paying all my expenses (transportation, lodging, meals). And ½ of my dads expenses. I then informed my dads oncologist of this wonderful opportunity to see if he would allow him to take this trip. His doctor approved wholeheartedly.
I took the congratulatory paperwork for Dad to see as he knew nothing about the trip. (Hopefully a video of him reading it will follow on this post.) He's excited and ready to go.
Upon telling my son about this he stated he wished he could too. I thought WOW would that be awesome. 3 generation Army guys together on this trip. Nic is an RN and would be a big help, should the need arise for anyone needing medical assistance.
So I contacted KDVA a few days ago and asked if there was a possibility of my son coming with. I just recieved word that he can go with us but he would have to pay full price for everything.
So here's my dilemma.
I really want to make this trip happen, but with such a short notice I can't come up with the funds needed.
What a great bonding experience this would be for us. Especially since my dads days here on Gods earth are numbered.
So PLEASE if you could find it in your heart to send a few dollars our way it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you.
