3 Peaks Challenge for Jericho House Derby & SANDS

Some friends and I are doing the Three Peaks Challenge next week. We are aiming to consecutively climb the highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) - all within a 24hour period We have been training for about 6 months and now the time has come to take on the challenge.

The total ascent of the 3 Peaks Challenge equates to approximately 9,800ft !! This is equivalent to 26 miles - a full marathon, but up and down three huge mountains!

Any sponsor/donation amount would be gratefully received. Everyone taking part has paid for their trip in full, so ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of all the money raised will go directly to the nominated charities

The Charities

Jericho House

Every year the residents of Jericho House go on a recovery oriented annual adventure camping outing to Cornwall. The purpose of this venture is to raise self esteem and build self confidence through structured fitness, education and problem solving and enhanced life coping skills, all of which are essential components of the Jericho House rehabilitation programme. The venture is integral to their individual program of recovery at JHP. As a result of Jericho’s Charity Status funding for this venture is dependant entirely on the benevolence of our benefactors and private donators.

S.A.N.D.S (Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Charity)

SANDS is a stillbirth and neonatal death charity. They operate throughout the UK, supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby and promoting research to reduce the loss of babies’ lives. 17 babies are stillborn or die shortly after birth every day in the UK, devastating the lives of around 6,500 families every year. Sands has a long-standing history of providing support to anyone affected by the loss of a baby, and to working with health professionals to improve the care offered to bereaved families.
