3 Peaks Challenge for Olivia Finch

Donation protected
Hi everyone and thank you for taking the time to read this.

A short version of the background is that over the last 18 months I (Dean) have been carrying out several different fund raising events, from Action for Children, to my Daughters school. The challenges have always consisted of doing something that is quite unrealistic, but never the less always leaves me in a pain that is just bearable.

So what are we going to do now?

After a conversation with my friend Ryan, we have decided that this time around we wanted to raise money for a more “personal” cause, rather than a big charity.

Through work I was pointed in the direction of 2 year old Olivia Finch and her family, who are currently doing absolutely everything in their power to raise a grand total of £250,000 for Olivia to receive treatment for Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, to get her to America and provide her with a vaccine that will potentially save her life.

Neuroblastoma is a very aggressive and rare form of child cancer, with under 100 cases in the UK.

Olivia has already gone through an extensive amount of treatment, but will inevitably need the treatment in America.

With all of the challenges and events we have done in the past we feel that for the two of us, this is the most emotional one for us. Having daughters, nephews and nieces ourselves, we cannot sympathise enough with the parents and commend them on the sheer strength that they are showing.

So what’s our plan?

We will be completing the 3 peaks challenge in under 24hrs, starting at Ben Nevis, then to Scafell Pike and then concluding the challenge at Snowdon.

Rewind to last year, this was done, but I speak for the boys who were involved in saying that it was a challenge that left us all physically, mentally and emotionally drained.

Alas, we will be leaving for Scotland on the 30th of June, resting up on the 1st of July and then starting the first mountain early hours of the morning of the 2nd of July.

Please please PLEASE understand that this is going to be a terrible experience for us (mostly me) but if it means that we can provide that tiny bit of support for Finch family then every single blister, ache moan and tantrum will be worth it!

Any donations will be gratefully accepted by the boys that are doing the walking (and the drivers of course), as well as the family that are trying so hard to find this life changing treatment.

Thank you so much!

Wish us luck!
