Let's help 3 year old Patrick and his family.

This page has been put together to raise money for 3 year old Patrick from Berkeley / Sharpness and his family.

Patrick is a beautiful bubbly, kind, loving little boy who has been diagnosed with Aplastic Anaemia, a rare and life-threatening blood disorder caused by the bone marrow not functioning properly. In people with aplastic anaemia, the bone marrow fails to produce enough of all three types of blood cells – red, white and platelets.

Patrick was finally diagnosed on the 31st October last year after several months of bruising easily, weight loss, mouth ulcers and a rash.

He is currently in Bristol Childrens hospital waiting for a bone marrow transplant. A donor match was found from a 20 year old in America who has selflessly agreed to go through with the transplant to save Patrick.

Patrick’s Mum Lizzie Croft is living in the hospital full time with him. They have been living in one room for the last week and are likely to be there for another 6 – 12 weeks, while Patrick goes through this intensive treatment. They aren’t allowed visitors apart from his Dad and Grandmother.

Patrick is fighting a long hard battle but he is a true fighter and is facing his treatment whilst still smiling despite the toll on his little body.

Lizzie is a well-known member of the community who is going through the most traumatic experience, with her beautiful little boy being so poorly. Lizzie, who works as a support worker for children with special needs is now unable to work.

We are hoping to raise some money to help the family with their daily living needs and perhaps a little holiday for them next year when this is all over.

I am hoping that our community in Berkeley and Sharpness will step up once again and help to support this little boy and his family at this rough time.

If any of the local pubs and clubs would like to hold some events to raise funds that would be fantastic.

Lets pull together once again to take some of the pressure off of them.
