30K Walk for the Dame Vera Lynn Charity

Albert was born at 25 weeks. At two days old Albert suffered a bleed on the brain.

Albert had to have multiple surgery’s and a life saving bowel surgery in December 2022. Albert had until January 2023 spent more time in hospital than at home.

Lisa and I will be forever thankful for the Doctors and Nurses at the TMBU and the Royal Alex Children's Hospital for saving our little boy.

When Albert was finally discharged from hospital in January 2023 Albert was given the chance to attend the Dame Vera Lynn Charity. The charity provides support and a centre for children with cerebral palsy and other motor learning impairments.

Albert attends the centre twice a week and has one home visit every two weeks. Albert is given the opportunity to learn and relax in music therapy, to learn how to walk, receive specialist physio techniques, play and use his gross motor and fine motor skills in cognitive education. In Alberts home visit he is encouraged to learn and play.

Through the charities support he has come on leaps and bounds since attending the centre.

Albert is a happy boy with challenges ahead but with the help of the charity he will be supported each step of the way and we are forever thankful.

The charity supports other children in Sussex and the South of England.

I am walking 30 kilometres in March to support the charity that has helped our son get the best start to life.
