Steph's Battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Stephanie is important to so many, and right now she needs us in her battle for life.

As you may or may not know, my niece Stephanie was recently diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a very rare form of leukemia. The funds raised here will help Stephanie cover her expenses, including medical and living expenses, and ongoing care when she is able to return home.

Steph began her first intensive round of chemotherapy on April 11th at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix. She will need to remain in the hospital during her treatments. After this initial round of chemo, she will need a course of interim chemotherapy. With her complex cytogenics, she will need a bone marrow transplant for a cure.

According to her doctors, Steph will not be able to work for at least a year. During this time, her financial future is uncertain as Steph’s medical leave (short term disability) from work is only a percentage of her normal salary. In addition, after the protected leave exhaust date of 8/1/23, she will have to pay the high costs of COBRA insurance.

Stephanie needs to focus on fighting to live, not on paying bills, and she needs to know that she is not in this fight alone. While her amazing doctors continue to focus on curing her illness, we can offer prayers, support and love to lift her spirits. This includes making a donation, sharing her story with others and/or offering words of encouragement.

We believe that if we rally around Steph in support, she can focus all of her energy on fighting and conquering this illness!
