Wolf Wine's Fire Fund
Donativo protegido
Despite years of difficulty including Brexit, a pandemic, the premises surrounding us being a building site for over a year, break-in attempts, a slew of antisocial behaviour and floods, Wolf Wine has withstood them all and continued to grow. We were preparing to celebrate our 7th anniversary and the grand reopening of Green Park Station in May, sadly, it wasn't meant to be. At 5am on Sunday the 23rd of April 2023 a fire decimated the cabins of Wolf Wine and the Shrine, leaving us heartbroken and uncertain of our future.
We don't know how or where the fire started and it has simply been declared 'an accident' by the authorities. Unfortunately, due to the wooden construction, the contents of the cabin - including all stock, equipment, glassware, bespoke furniture etc. and valued at around £20,000 - will not be covered by insurance. There is also a huge sentimental loss, this is where we started and where we collected and displayed all of the gifts and mementos we received from our customers, friends and families over the last seven years in the cabins. Things that we can never get back. We will obviously be unable to trade from the cabin for the foreseeable future - from what we've heard that could be up to a year. We do know, however, that this latest challenge won't break us.
We will continue serving our wholesale accounts and relocate as many events as we can. We are also in the process of revamping our online store and planning other ways of fulfilling our mission of keeping our wonderful customers stocked with exceptional wines.
We want nothing more than to rise from the ashes and rebuild better than ever but to do this, we need your help. We are a small indie business with no way of filling the financial hole left by the fire. We know that times are tough for everyone right now and many are not in a position to help financially but even sharing our story will help us. We are so incredibly grateful for the support we have received from all of you throughout the years and, hopefully, for years to come.
The funds raised will help us replace the lost stock and equipment and allow us to keep paying our amazing suppliers and team. So that we can continue to trade as normally as possible and will enable us to come back better and stronger once the ash has settled.
We would also like to highlight that the fire has affected the whole community of small businesses at Green Park Station and their Gofundme/support links can be found below.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, sharing it and contributing if you are able. It means the world to us.
All of our love,
Sam, Angus, Ola and Paddy
