(Update 5/31/23) For May 2023, when I turned 50, I ran a total of 108.9 miles. Though the month is over, this page will remain active and I will continue to raise money and do my best to support those in the fight against cancer. I hope you will join me. Thank you

Hi, my name is Denise. As a caregiver, I have seen (and am currently still witnessing) the damage that cancer can do to the body, mind, and spirit. I started the So Alive Cancer Project to give a voice to those in the fight and also those who won the victory. Their stories help educate, give resources, and encourage others. You can click here to learn more and hear some stories of breast cancer survivors; which is who the movement originally started with.
Things like a phone bill or a car note can easily fall through the cracks while fighting for your life. Uber charges and taxi rides to treatment and medical appointments can chip away at financial reserves. Access to overpriced medicines and supplies can be hindered without a little extra money making it hard to find the strength to just keep going. I want to help.
40% of the funds raised will go to the SO ALIVE Cancer Project to continue educating and telling stories through audio, video, and publications. 40% will go to Powerful Divas with a Purpose to continue helping individuals in need. 20% will go to individuals that have already expressed a need to me.
You can follow my ruck miles on Strava as The Urban Rucker Denise. Thank you
