Brittany Gallant Cancer Fight!

Hey Everyone. My name is Melissa Ostridge and I am here to ask for your support in helping out my younger sister Brittany Gallant.

Those of you that know Brittany know she is thoughtful, kind and one of most caring people you could meet . She is a single mom to her beautiful little girl Kallie . She is also an amazing daughter, sister , aunt and friend .

In February 2023 Brittany started experiencing very terrible pain in her left side . She went to PCH emergency department where they did a CT scan and multiple tests to determine there was a mass .She was sent off for a biopsy then it was determined Brittany had her cancer back less the 3 years after her first diagnosis in 2020 and only at the age of 35 .

Brittany was diagnosed with a form of cancer called Squamous Cell Carcinoma in the lymph nodes. She will have to travel from Mont Carmel PE to Charlottetown every day starting in the middle of May for intense radiation treatment for 5 weeks , after that more tests and scans will be done to see if she is ready for surgery which is taking place in Halifax.

Brittany was forced to leave her job as an Early Childhood Educator due to the pain this tumour is causing, with no long term disability she is faced with the unknowns and with the uncertainty of when she can return to her normal life she is faced with some financial burden .

Although Brittany has an amazing support system with her family , friends and the overwhelming support of her community we want her to focus on getting treatment and get healthy , even after receiving treatment her recovery won’t be done she will have a lot of healing to do , so we are asking for any donations nothing is to little .
