Financial Analysis of DePaul
Donation protected
Following the lead of other university faculties who question administrative scarcity claims that have led to draconian cuts and layoffs, low faculty morale, and losses of shared governance (see: https://www.chronicle.com/article/the-era-of-artificial-scarcity), the AAUP chapter at DePaul University seeks to fund an independent financial analysis of the university’s revenue and expenditures in order gain the transparency that has been lacking in our budget planning process. We hope that the information obtained from this analysis will contribute to restoring confidence and trust between DePaul’s administration and its stakeholders while allowing the university to make informed financial decisions as it moves forward.
The funds raised will be used to cover the $5,500 fee of the independent auditor, who has extensive experience providing financial analyses for higher education institutions around the country. The fee covers the following:
- 100 hours of research and work
- A written report
- A presentation, which will be made public
If you love DePaul and want to see it thrive, please help us get the information we need.
