Hi everyone, I’m building a go fund me so that we can help mom pay for medical/hospital bills, TPN, and tube feeding.
If you know mom or have ever met her you know that she is the strongest and hardest working woman out there and that she is not one to ask for help but now is when we need it. Mom has been battling an unknown autoimmune disease for the last 5 years that we cannot get to the bottom of. We’ve been working with an immunologist and rheumatologist to find the cause but still have no answers. She’s been septic 13 times within the last year alone, all ending in a long hospital stay. Recently, Mom has been living off of TPN for the last year and a half and has started tube feeding to help her nutrition as she is not able to eat due to how severe her gastroporesis has gotten. Her GI surgeon that we have been seeing in Birmingham, Al. for these issues has diagnosed her with failure to thrive and we are trying everything we can to make her strong enough for another surgery to try and help the gastoporesis and take her off of the TPN and tube feeding. With all this we are having trouble with insurance covering the vital parts of her medicine that would stop treatments and tube feeding for her that are keeping her alive.
