We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of our brother, Alex Pecina. On April 30th, Alex was a passenger in a co-worker's car when he was tragically killed on his way home from work. We are in shock; Alex was 20 years young. Alex was funny, loving, caring, brave, compassionate, kind, and humble. He is a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. We love him and are going to miss him so much! Alex was a light in many eyes and often did random acts of kindness for those he loved and even strangers. Alex was just weeks away from his High School Graduation. We want to give Alex the goodbye that he deserves.
In his short 20 years on Earth, Alex was a great student and community member. Growing up, Alex was a part of the Devil Pups Youth Program - a program with positive impact on the quality of life of young teens in the community. Alex was also a member of the LAPD Cadets where he had the desire to achieve excellence within his own life and use those achievements to positively impact the East Los Angeles Community. Alex was working towards becoming an LAPD, his dream career.
Alex was strong in faith and was an Altar Server for several years at his local church, Our Lady of Guadalupe in East Los Angeles. Alex enjoyed running marathons and volunteering. For several years, Alex volunteered at local food drives at East Los Angeles Community College (ELAC).
In this difficult time, the Pecina family need financial assistance to cover the costs of the funeral and other expenses. If you can contribute, it would mean the world to us. Please send them your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
We will keep you updated on services.
