As you all now know, our beloved Gerry Wayne Monroe departed this life on Sunday, April 30, 2023.

Gerry devoted his life to the service of his community. Undoubtedly he was a man who was for the people and actively fought for justice. He was an unrelenting activist in the Houston Independent School District. The Jack Yates graduate appeared multiple times on the Isaiah Factor and many other platforms as an advocate for education in the community. Gerry Wayne Monroe will be truly missed. As he so lovingly and dutifully served people, we are humbly asking that as you all think of Gerry’s memory and impact, we pray that your hearts and hands would be inclined to help us lay him to rest. His family is in need of the community’s support in covering the cost of funeral expenses. We appreciate the vast outpouring of love and support shown to us thus far. Your kindness will be forever cherished as we carry forward Gerry’s legacy, our Five Star General.
