Help blind pianist Yerko with college debt
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jerry Falk and I'm fundraising for my good friend Yerko Difonis.
Yerko is the first blind pianist in the history of Rutgers University (founded in 1766) to pursue a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Classical Piano Performance. He may also be the first blind and partially deaf person in the United States to achieve such a feat.
Since Yerko is Chilean and resides in New Jersey on an F-1 student visa, he does not have access to student loans commonly available to American Citizens. Additionally, he is currently unemployed. This means that he has no way to obtain funds other than from contributions.
Even though Yerko had a full scholarship at Rutgers from 2020 through 2022, he has an unpaid debt of about $5,032 from his master's program. This debt is keeping him from registering for classes for the fall semester of 2023. Yerko has been blessed with a generous benefactor who has agreed to pay for his doctorate program. However, this leftover debt from his master's program continues to be a problem.
Yerko would be very grateful for any help towards paying off this debt.
