SAVE DEL MAR NORTH DOG BEACH & BLUFF
Donation protected
Hi,
As part of Friends of Del Mar North Bluff, I am asking for funds to save Del Mar North Dog Beach Bluff.
Once again North Del Mar Dog Beach bluff is threatened by a huge development project featuring 5-story towers, 2-story underground parking. The driveway would remove at least 10 public parking spaces on the 101 that serve beach visitors.
We need your help to support a Scripps researcher and a geotechnical engineer write reports regarding bluff stability, set backs, and bluff fragility.
Here's a preview visual by a Scripps researcher who has studied the Del Mar bluffs for years--it shows the extent of cliff retreat (the lines) associated with various sea level rise scenarios (yellow is 2 m, red is 1 m) over the 75-year life of the project.
Only we can save our fragile beach bluff that's on Del Mar Dog Beach North--one of the most popular beaches in North County. Please help us by contributing to real third-party reports that can be presented to the City of Del Mar, City of Solana Beach, and the California Coastal Commission!
Thank you for your help!
