The Ewaskow family
Donation protected
On behalf of the beloved Ewaskow family, First Baptist Church in Cranbrook has put together this fundraiser to help alleviate the cost of staying with Autumn in Vancouver while she recovers from a major accident.
As many of you know, Autumn Ewaskow was in a freak accident on Sunday April 30. She was at Lakit climbing with friends, and while standing on a 6ft tall rock taking photos, a piece of the rock she was on broke off. Autumn jumped, but her foot slipped and she fell, landing on her head. The big piece of rock that broke off bounced and then rolled onto her back. She was unconscious but breathing. Search and rescue and ambulance transported her to East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
She was flown to BC Children's Hospital, her dad Kevin, was on the flight with her. Her mom Natasha flew out the next day. Her oldest sister Kaliana and Kali's finance Colby arrived from Victoria yesterday as well. Her older sister Hope is en route to Vancouver tomorrow.
Autumn remains in an induced coma, a state that best allows the brain to heal. In the coming days she will have further imaging and tests to assess her health and brain functioning. One of the doctors caring for Autumn told the family that brain trauma is dealt with over weeks, not days. In light of that, we'd like to alleviate some of the cost associated with staying in Vancouver to lighten the very heavy burden this family is carrying.
Please pray, please donate, this is a family beloved by many, and as a community, we trust God will bless and use what we offer.
