Legal Funds for RBPD Police Brutality Survivor
Donation protected
On Friday afternoon around 7:30pm I was approached by Redondo Beach pd as my sister Nancy Flores and Yare were sitting down eating. They then told me I could not have my dog on the pier, I said “okay”, and they proceeded to ask if she was a service animal. I told them she was, but I just didn’t have my paperwork on me. They responded by asking for my ID without saying why I needed to present one. That is when I started recording. As I was trying to leave the beach it escalated to “we now have to take you to the station.” Naturally I was upset wondering why I was being targeted when so many others had their dogs with them on the beach. After I said I would leave with them, I attempted to hand Yare to my sister who was standing back recording as well, they proceeded to grab her and throw me down to the ground, kneeling on my back and pushing my head down. My sister and I were detained, I was booked for having Yare and obstruction and my sis was booked for obstruction as well. Our bail was set for $ 10,000 each and we have court in late October. Yare was also taken by them and released in the am a few hours after us.
We are fundraising for the cost of legal support. We plan to hold Redondo Beach pd accountable. We appreciate all the love, messages of support, and solitary we have received from community.
Our community deserves to be free in every which way ❤️
