Love for Matthew Chena's Family

I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and a plea for help. We recently lost a remarkable young man, Matthew, in a tragic robbery homicide. It is a call that no mother should ever have to receive, and words cannot fully express the sorrow and anguish that we feel for Matthew and his family.

Matthew was only 20 years old, full of life and had so much more to give to the world. His vibrant spirit and love for life will forever be remembered through his brothers, Landon and Mason, and his mother, Nikole. Not only was he a loving older brother, and son, but he was thoroughly committed to his grandfather’s well-being: providing love, companionship, and support to him in Alabama during the last years of his life. Matthew’s dedication and selflessness were evident in the care that he provided, ensuring his grandfather’s comfort and happiness until his passing in August 2022. Restoring old cars was more than just a hobby for Matthew and his grandfather; it was a labor of love that brought them closer together. At the time of Matthew’s untimely passing, he had big plans in store for his grandfather’s cherished old Corvette.

Matthew was a born fisherman and could often be found on the lakes in Alabama and Georgia near his home. He frequently hooked his boat up to his Chevy Silverado truck and went in search of the deepest waters. The four-legged love of his life, a German Shepard named Ziggy, at his side, ready to jump into the truck and be his accomplice on any adventure.

Matthew’s untimely passing has left his entire family and friends devastated. His family is now facing the challenge of meeting his end-of-life expenses, including his funeral and burial costs.
