Davids Road To Recovery

Boyne mountain fire victim David Chauvette is 22 years old and a senior in the Great Lakes maritime academy. He was involved in a tragic event in harbor springs early Sunday morning December 11. The boyne highlands resort caught on fire and David was unable to get out. Trapped in a smoke filled room for a significant amount of time before Firefighters were able to rescue him. Thankfully he was found barely breathing but alive.. upon arrival at the hospital in petoskey it was concluded he had severe smoke inhalation leaving him in critical condition in the ICU. He was then transported to the butterworth spectrum hospital in GR where he currently remains. David has been on the road to recovery in the right direction but has a very long process ahead of him.
