Help my mum get a home

Hi,

This is my mum Donna, she’s my rock and my best friend.

She’s currently homeless.

Let down by the system and left without anywhere to live since 18th August this year.

My Mum is the kindest, strongest and most loving person you would ever meet. Her personality is contagious and everyone who meets her would tell you the same. She would do anything for anyone. Even now when she has been left with nothing she will always try and help others.

She was left to live in a van on the coast until last week where they have now put her in a hotel but at a charge of £25 a week and also a hotel that is not accessible for disabled people and completely unsecured and unsafe. The door and window doesn’t even lock or latch correctly and this is supposed to be acceptable.

My mum is disabled with 1 leg and unable to work for multiple reasons, she has been calling everyone she can to try and get some help with doors just being slammed in her face all over.

I am asking for help to raise some money to help my mum get a deposit for a new home. Just a rental not to buy but just a place she can call her own, a place she can feel safe and secure and a place for her to be warm.

I would have mum with me but I live in Norfolk and I also live in a property that isn’t my own and is rented and is also not suitable for her needs and miles away from the rest of our family that she needs to be close to.

I am asking for any small bit of help, anything you can donate to help get my mum off the streets.

shes currently paying £500 just for storage for her furniture and possessions because she has no where to put them. For a woman who has no choice but to rely on the benefits the government says she can have this isn’t ok. No one is helping. No one is doing anything as a matter or urgency to make her safe.

If you know any property owners on the East Sussex coast local to Peacehaven who have a 1-2 bedroom bungalow they would be happy to rent to her and her small therapy dog who is perfectly behaved please get in contact and tell them my mums story.

funds will help towards a housing deposit and even for now the cost of her storage.
