A request for help
Donation protected
I'm Jill Vadeboncoeur and I have created this Gofundme page to request help for my sister.
My sister Michele Lingenfelter is a single mom to an amazing daughter who just graduated from Oakton High school. She & her daughter have been through a lot in the last few years and finally decided to reach out for help.
To give you a history of what she has been going through:
Michele is a diabetic patient.
In 2019, due to an unfortunate fall, she ended up with a hematoma in her leg which caused ambulatory issues. In the same year, she had a heart attack and had to undergo a triple bypass.
In 2020, Michele contacted Covid due to her weak immune system.
In 2021, she was diagnosed with kidney failure.
In 2022, while in the hospital for the flu, her kidney failure advanced to Stage 5. Michele is currently on the kidney transplant list and is waiting for a kidney donor. She is currently receiving dialysis 3 times a week.
Recently, due to her diabetes and after coming home from the hospital with a sore on her foot, Michele had to have her right foot amputated.
All through her medical issues, Michele has tried to work full time to support herself and her daughter. She currently has huge outstanding medical bills. She has just been discharged from the hospital after 4 weeks and will not be able to return to work indefinitely.
We appreciate you taking the time to see our page and any assistance/ donation you are able to give.
Thanks,
Jill
UPDATE:
Thank you all so so much for your amazing support and kind and generous donations. I am so humbled and blessed. Since the original post, I have received a motorized wheelchair and a prosthetic leg and am learning to walk on it. My next step is to get the car adapted so I can drive again and regain my 100% independence. My job has imposed a “leave of absence” while they review my request for reasonable accommodation. My sort term disability has ended and I have not been paid since September 7th. Your support means so much to me. There are not adequate words to describe my appreciation. -ML
