HELP YU RABBI INSPIRE STUDENTS

Tax deductible

Rabbi Israel Harari has been an Academic Mentor  (Shoel Umaishiv) at RIETS, the primary rabbinical institution ordaining Orthodox  Rabbis in North America and an affiliate of Yeshiva University, from 1997 until 2014. In this capacity he has been instrumental in teaching prospective rabbis and undergraduate students.

Rabbi Harari has excelled in Judaic Studies since infancy and  was valedictorian of his high school class at the
Bnei Akiva Yeshivat Or Chaim in Toronto, Ontario
established by the Koschitzky Family.

After studying at Yeshiva Har Etzion in Israel under the tutelege of Rabbi Aharon Lichtenstein ob'm, a great Talmudic luminary of our generation and son-in-law of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik ob'm, considered one of the greatest Talmudic luminaries of the last century, Rabbi Harari then continued studying Computer Science and Judaic  Studies at the University of Toronto and earned a B.S. in 1986.  He then proceeded to study for his ordination at Yeshiva University's  Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary(RIETS) where he was ordained in 1991 and then entered the Gruss Institute for Advanced Talmudic Studies in 1992 where he spent five years.

In 1997, Rabbi Harari was appointed by Rabbi Zevulun
Charlop, then Dean of RIETS, to the post of Shoel Umaishiv (Academic Mentor), to serve as an oracle for more than  400  students having  difficulty with the aramaic talmudic texts which can confound  even experienced Talmudic scholars, and to teach students the rigorous analytical tools required to comprehend the Talmud. In 2009, Rabbi Harari was  assigned by then Dean of RIETS Rabbi Yona Reiss to be the Shoel Umaishiv for the Talmud class of Rabbi Hershel  Schachter, considered one of the greatest Talmudic luminaries in our generartion and a top disciple of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik. Rabbi Harari voluntarily attends all of Rabbi Schachter's classes for two hours a day so that he can answer all of the students' questions on the myriad of topics covered by Rabbi Schachter.

Rabbi Harari is also a member of the prestigious Dr. Norman Lamm Advanced Institute for Jewish Jurisprudence which confers the additonal coveted ordination of Yadin Yadin for Jewish judges. The Institute is presided over by Rabbi J. David Bleich  and Rabbi Mordechai Willig. Rabbi Bleich is a prodigious Talmudic luminary and one of the  most prolific writers of our time, focusing  the interface of Jewish Law and modern society. Rabbi Willig, a prodigious Torah luminary as well, is a top disciple of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik and a pioneer in establishing the prenuptual agreements designed to protect Jewish woman from recalcitrant husbands.

During the course of his studies, Rabbi Harari has learnt under the tutelege of the following great Talmudic luminaries: Rabbi Aharon Lichtenstein ob'm (1981-82, summers '83,'87,'92); Rabbi Aaron Soloveitchik ob'm (1986-88); Rabbi Hershel Schachter (1986-92, 2009-present); Rabbi Michael Rosensweig, a great Talmudic luminary and top disciple of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik, (1988-89,1992-97); and  Rabbi Menachem Genack, CEO of OU Kasrhrus, a great Talmudic luminary and top disciple of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik, (1989-90). Despite his accomplishments,  Rabbi Harari is very modest, down to earth and personable, and teaches his students in a very friendly and patient manner, making sure that the topic at hand is thoroughly comprehended.

Unfortunately, due to the financial crisis at Yeshiva
University and the fact that his position was classified as
'adjunct', Rabbi Harari's positon has been terminated.
Nonetheless, he has continued to inspire many students as he has done in the past due to his loyalty to his religious convictions and the love he has for  students and learning. He has been using his own assets to continue his holy work.

Please help Rabbi Harari voluntarily continue inspiring students at which he has been so successful in producing dozens of Rabbis who better the world and allows undergraduate students to succeed in both their Talmudic learning and university disciplines through the mastery of rigorous Talmudic logic.

Thank you very much for your consideration.
