Immediate Relief for Gorkha, Nepal

Our Story:
We are a gap-year program for students graduating high school that want to take a year off before college to further establish themselves, learn basic life skills (family, finances, integrity, etc), and gain some perspective. Each year we take our students on a two month trip to Nepal, where we have established good relationship with the people and partnered with various communities and villages. Nepal is very near and dear to our hearts, and we are heartbroken as we grieve the lives and livelihoods lost of our close friends. Our team of students has been in Nepal since March and survived the recent earthquake. They are now shifting their focus to providing immediate relief.

The Good News:
Where our team is located, in Pokhara (west of the epicenter), they have DIRECT access to the Gorkha district, which has received NO AID WHATSOEVER. This is because all of the money being raised, relief supplies, and aid workers are being sent to the city of Kathmandu, which due to road conditions is entirely cut off from the hard-hit rural areas of Nepal, that are currently in the worst condition. They are teaming up with the locals they have been working with to bring IMMEDIATE aid to the people that are starving, have no drinking water, and no shelter from the rain and freezing Himalayan nights.
