Melissa's Cancer Recovery

In 2019, our dear friend, Melissa, was diagnosed with lung cancer and recovered like a champ. Unfortunately, Melissa's cancer metastasis to her brain. On 30 December 2022, Melissa underwent surgery to have the tumor removed. The surgery appeared to be a success, and after a short stay in ICU, Melissa was sent home to recover.

A few days went by, and Melissa's health quickly declined. Melissa was rushed to the emergency room to discover a massive infection within her brain cavity. Melissa underwent another surgery to treat the pocket of infection. This last surgery left Melissa with one-sided paralysis.

Melissa is currently a Willis Knighton Rehabilitation Hospital resident undergoing intense physical and occupational therapy.

This treatment will be a long road to recovery, so we are raising funds to cover expenses connected to her recent move, absence from work, and other costs to support her recovery.
