Lyft Driver's Car Totaled
I'm a full-time Lyft driver. I was working NYE. My passengers had just gotten into the car and I started the ride. Before I could shift from park to drive, we were struck from behind by a pickup truck. I'm relatively certain that the guy driving was going 40-45mph. Both myself and my front seat passenger were injured with whiplash. The backseat passengers seemed to be fine. When I inspected my car after the accident, I found: *The front windshield was filled with spider web cracks *The rear windshield had completely shattered, filling the backseat with glass *The rear bumper was gone and the metal frame it had protected was twisted *The trunk had been pushed inward and refused to close *The pickup had struck with enough force that his license plate was stuck to the back of my car Needless to say, my car was completely totaled. Right now, Progressive is arguing with Lyft over who will cover what. They've halted investigation into the accident until they can figure out who is responsible for what. Meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out how to pay my bills when I can't work. I was working 40-55 hours per week driving for Lyft. And now I have no income. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
