Help Emily with an Important Eye Surgery

Hi everyone. If you’re reading this just know I appreciate you!

Last year I started to have blurred vision in my left eye. I finally got around to seeing an eye doctor a few months ago and discovered that I have a detached and torn retina in my left eye. This has caused my peripheral vision to not function correctly and to have blurry patches in my vision. My right eye also has a minor tear in it as well.

I was told I would need surgery in my left eye to reattach and fix my retina, or overtime my eyesight would get worse and cause more problems down the road.

Last week I found out the insurance I have will not cover the procedure. The overall cost is $8,000 out of pocket for the surgery, prescriptions, and doctor appointments. I am also going to have to take at least 2 weeks off work to recover, and I won’t be able to make money during this time.

I worked out a payment plan, but with being out of work for awhile and on top of other bills, I am a little financially worried and stressed. I have tried my best, and it is hard for me to ask for help, but i’ve realized this is something I need help with.

This is a tough situation, but I am strong and resilient and so blessed to know I have a community of support on my side! And I am feeling so grateful to know that I’ll have my full eyesight back soon again :)
