Joe Smith's MedAssist Fund

I am a friend and neighbor of the Smith Family. We are asking for your assistance on behalf of Joe & Barbara.

Joe suffered a devastating spinal cord injury in October 2023 as a result of a cancerous tumor in his back, caused by multiple myeloma. He had to have emergency surgery to remove the tumor, followed by another surgery to insert rods and screws into his spine to replace where the bone was lost. Unfortunately due to the spinal cord compression, he is currently unable to walk. While he is going through rehabilitation services to try to recover some mobility, he is also undergoing multiple rounds/months of chemotherapy to treat the multiple myeloma.

Joe will hopefully be coming home at some point early this year and the Smith family's home needs to be made handicap accessible with ramps, wider entryways, chair-lifts, etc. All funds collected will be used toward these costs as well as bills not covered by insurance. With the outstanding medical expenses and the need for a handicap-accessible home, any support is greatly appreciated.
