Chad Strickler Lung Transplant Fund
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kathleen. I am fundraising for my friends Chad and Angie Strickler. Chad has suffered from primary ciliary dyskinesia (a genetic disease that affects the tiny hairlike cilia in the lungs, nose, and ears, impairing their ability to remove germs and pollutants. This allows mucus to buildup and cause infections, similar to cystic fibrosis) since birth. On November 7th he got the call for his lung transplant. This has not been the new lease on life Chad hoped for. During the surgery he suffered a stroke, which has complicated his recovery as well as leaving him blind and unable to talk. When they are able to wean him off the ventilator he will need to go to a rehab facility (this will also be away from home, requiring Angie to remain in a hotel to be near him).
Angie is currently not working so that she can be close to him and aid in his recovery. The hotel, food, and other cost of living in a hotel to be near him has quickly depleted their savings. Her sister is staying in their home with their two young boys, trying to keep their lives as normal as possible.
Chad and Angie are the kind of people that would give you the shirts off their backs if you were in need. Right now they could really use the help as they fight this battle.
