Illuminating Futures: Empower Codewa's children
Donation protected
Codewa is a non-profit that helps Tanzanian orphans and vulnerable children find their path to dream of a better future!
We strongly believe that removing material barriers to school is a precondition to success. However, without motivation, dreams and aspirations, the impact of material support is limited.
Therefore, CODEWA works on both levers altogether to empower orphans and vulnerable children in Tabora, Tanzania.
Here are a few key challenges in Tabora preventing children from excelling at school:
- Children from deprived areas have very few role models, and without inspiration they can often drop out from school and engage in illegal activities.
- Classroom are often overcrowded and you can often see eighty children or even more than a hundred students with only 15 of them with a notebook to take notes.
- Many children cannot go to school because their families cannot afford buying uniforms, clothes and school material.
- Yearly school fees for technical schools are high. For instance, to study agriculture, can amount to one year of salary of a school teacher!
- The cost of a health insurance is often the monthly income of a family, and children often fall sick even with (6 times on average per year at CODEWA), which decreases their attendance and productivity.
To address these challenges in a holistic manner, this is how we proceed:
In 2024, to keep removing barriers to school, we are fundraising to:
- Deliver 20 self-development, inspiration and mentorship seminars
- Provide all school material and clothing for 25 children
- Offer 6 full scholarships to high-school students
- Provide 25 health insurances!
At Codewa, all donations go directly to the items we are fundraising for, as our running costs are already covered through support from a milling business that also hired two full-time employees.
We are very grateful for your support. Any donation or link-sharing will help us in this ambitious journey to empower these vulnerable children, and remember that:
“It is not how much we give but how much love we put into giving” (Mother Teresa)
Thank you again for helping them to keep moving toward their dreams!
