Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer

My name is Gloria C Swain living in Oakville, Ontario where I have been successful in meeting and making some amazing NEW friends.

This is my second battle with cancer. In 2018, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I underwent surgery to remove all the cancer, [I thought I was in remission until 2023].

In March, I found a lump in my left breast and after a mammogram and biopsy, I was diagnosed with cancer for the second time with stage 4 metastatic [spread to bones] breast cancer.

Since March 2023, I lost my precious therapy cat, Patches, to fluid on her lungs. This second diagnosis changed me forever. Side effects from the medication and the time spent at the hospital has greatly impacted my quality of life, my physical and mental health.

At this time, I thank everyone for the generous financial assistance that helped me in paying my rent, catching up on overdue bills [e.g., hydro, cable, credit card, phone, etc.], buying healthy foods, transportation to and from treatments and appointments, paying the required senior fees on my monthly cancer medications, and moving to a place where I am loved, accepted, and appreciated for being me.

Before my friend persuaded me to create this account, I had been surviving off the use of my credit card.

This humanity and kindness greatly impacted my healing journey and quality of life.
