HELP DEMETRIOS GET A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE WITH A VAGUS NERVE STIMULATOR (VNS)

As some of you may know, our son Demetrios was born with many health obstacles including a Rare Chromosome Deletion, Autism and Epilepsy. When he was born, he was given a bleak outlook with a life expectancy of 10 years and constant medical care. Demetrios did not let this define him. He has overcome many of his obstacles and is 16 years old.

However, Demetrios is currently struggling with debilitating Epileptic seizures which continue to worsen. He has an increased risk of Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (S.U.D.E.P.). In order to improve his quality of life and possibly extend it, Demetrios needs a Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS). The doctor believes he is a good candidate for the surgery, and along with the hospital, is willing to perform the surgery . The surgery is scheduled for January 2024, would be in Austin, Texas and a minimum of one week stay.

We are asking you, our community, to help us raise $7800 to cover surgery costs, along with related expenses such as other medical costs, gas money and hotel costs during his hospital stay. Please consider helping us give Demetrios a second chance at life.
