Mary Nutter ACL replacement surgery

Unfortunately this is not my first fundraiser for this kind of thing. My name is Duncan Jones and I am a assistant manager for the woman's first team at Altrincham football club in Manchester, England. In October, one of my players, Mary Nutter, suffered a life-changing and potentially career-changing injury when she snapped her ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament), and tore her MCL (Medial Colloidal Ligament) playing Preston North End in the FA Cup.

Mary is no average player, and for me, this is very personal. I have coached Mary since she was 9 and she has progressed with me through the Altrincham juniors where we consistently won every trophy that you can win. She was our captain all through the Juniors and this year moved straight in to the woman's first team at the age of 16. Due to the backlog, the NHS projected date for her surgery is over a year away. This leaves no alternative but to pursue getting the operation privately. The estimated costs will be between £9000-£10000 (depending on the extent of the MCL tear).
