As some of you may know, Zach had heart surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital on November 8th. While the heart surgery was successful, on November 10th when he went back to the OR to have his breathing tube removed, he suffered complications and had to have an emergency tracheotomy. Zachary has been heavily sedated since November 8th, he had an MRI this past Friday and the news was given to Steve and Laura that Zachary sustained a substantial brain injury. Steve and Laura have not left his side since the initial surgery. At this time they are facing a lengthy stay at Boston Children’s and Zach will eventually have to go into Rehab facility. As you can imagine this has been devastating for his family. We hope by raising funds for them it will offset the financial burden they are facing and give them peace of mind to stay by Zach’s side.
