Help Hazem and His Family Survive the War in Gaza

‘’This is Hazem, 27 years old, a seasoned programmer and project manager with 10 years in the IT sector, who was working remotely with a company in Europe before the outbreak of the war in Gaza, Palestine.

I urgently need your help for me, my little brother and mother. Our main goal is to raise funds for us to safely leave Gaza, where the war has made life extremely difficult. We are facing tough times, we lost our home, we lack basic resources, and our safety is at risk due to the ongoing conflict.

On October 7th 2023, our lives were turned upside down when we were forced to leave our home in Gaza. In a desperate attempt to survive, we packed up and miraculously escaped gunfire and rocket sounds seeking refuge in another place in the south of Gaza city. Sadly, it was only the beginning of our hardship!

As we left, tears streamed down our faces, saying goodbye to the rooms and corners of our house. We took photos to hold onto the memories. The house, where I spent 27 years of my life, the only property that my father and mother were able to obtain after a work trip and struggle that lasted 40 years, is now confirmed to be completely destroyed, and we haven't yet come to terms with this loss.

In a poignant turn of events, I also had purchased a home for myself, only to lose it within less than one year due to the ravages of war! Despite this, I have chosen not to include the donations for rebuilding my own home, as I only wish to undertake the challenge of reconstructing it myself. My mission now exclusively focuses on protecting the lives of my old mom, and my little orphan brother, Karam, who we call ‘’the little Picasso’’.

With the situation worsening, we face a tough decision: evacuate again or risk becoming victims of aggression. Each evacuation forces us to confront the harsh reality that we might not survive the next bombing.

Hunger, fear, and a lack of medical support are daily challenges. Without electricity and internet since the start of the Israeli aggression, women including my mom, in particular, face unique difficulties.

Your support is crucial as we navigate these unprecedented challenges. Let's come together to provide relief and hope for a secure future for me to be able to continue my life abroad, and for my little brother to help him start taking his first steps in life in a safer place. We never imagined one day that we would leave our beloved city, but the war left us no other choice.’’
