We lost Cookie to Surgery Complications...
Donation protected
Hi, this is Cookie. She is almost 1 1/2 years old and she needs surgery for a severely broken leg.
She needed surgery to have a plate put in to fix the leg. We were told the is very low likelihood to severe complications as othro surgeries like this are done often and successfully.
However, Cookie didn't take well to the surgery. We had to take her back into the ER and fond that her Kindeys were failing. They were hoping it was jsut dehydration and put her on fluids. However, they were not getting better - but much worst and quickly. Within a few hours, we were called and advised she wasn't going to make it through the night.
After all is said we have spent over 7K on her, only to have to say goodbye. I am saddend and angry and confused and stressed. We were able to get care credit but we are seeking further assistance to help cover these costs. I shoud have never canceled the pet insurance. Please get pet insurance!!!
ER Visit $1125
Long Leg Surgery $4335
ER Visit $1787
Also, not to lay it on, but Cookie my daughter’s cat. My daughter is 8 years old. These two are inseparable. Cookie doesn’t put up with much from anyone but will let Hayden do anything. When Hayden is at her dad’s Cookie paces and cry’s for her to come home. Cookie has been my daughters rock through my divorce from her dad and I would hate for her to have to loose her rock because I am tight on funds.
