Let the festival begin!
Bower Grove is a community day school for boys and girls aged 4 – 16 years with behaviour and learning difficulties. The school provides a high quality of education, accessible to the pupils of varied and different learning styles, whilst taking into consideration their challenging social, emotional, behavioural and learning needs. As a school we value the importance of the arts in raising self-esteem and contributing to the well-being of young people and we are organising this festival as a celebration of all their hard work and dedication throughout the school year.
This year we are hoping to raise enough money to run our school festival for the third time and we need your help. Due to a lack of government funding, we were unable to hold our festival last year and its absence really was felt so this year we are holding a range of fundraising activities to ensure we can bring back one of our favourite events of the year. Our major drive for donations will feature 6 staff members pounding the pavements to Paris as they try to run from school to the Eiffel Tower in 36 hours #cirquedesorefeet!
Your money will go towards a stage, performers and the resources to put on a memorable day for our pupils many of whom come from deprived backgrounds. The festival provides these young people with an opportunity to experience live arts in an authentic festival setting, something they may never be fortunate enough to experience beyond our school gates. The 2021 and 2022 edition of BGStival proved to be memorable, particularly for our pupils and they keep asking when it will happen again. Fingers crossed for 2024!
