We would like to thank you for the interest you´ve shown in the Foundation Renacer Charity in Quindio, Colombia. Founded by a UK-trained cardiac nurse specialist (Miriam Castro) and a psychologist (Adriana Lopez), the aims of the foundation are to:

1) Provide care and support to the local elderly population, particularly those who would otherwise not be able engage with others.

2) Bring communities together – fostering mental, emotional and physical health.

3) Teaching and education on self care, optimising diet and exercising, and transferring valuable skills, including use of technology, but also singing, breathwork and meditation

4) Enshrining love, hope and compassion toward the community.

The Foundation Renacer was located in a rented premises for 6 years until 2023 when finally, using personal funds from Miriam and Adriana, the Foundation was able to secure a plot of land in Montenegro Quindío, adjacent to a Coffee and Amusement Park.

At present, our main goal is to be able to build and refurbish parts of the actual building (including the kitchen) estimated to cost £18,000 in order to accomplish the statutory requirements to obtain a license from the Health Department to be able to formally provide care in the setting of a Day Care Centre for elderly people in the local community.

Achieving this milestone of successfully refurbishing the kitchen and dining room will enable us to be more self sufficient – and with regular payments from the local government to provide this service will allow us to achieve our goal of providing a sustainable community-centred service

This high quality service will make a meaningful contribution to the well- being for the community such as mental, emotional and social health, through the different activities like mindfulness, physical exercise, meditation, developing the diverse activities that we used to do right before covid 19 started.

Since we started back in 2012, following a deep compelling vision for us, we embraced this dream with a lot of enthusiasm using our own savings and have managed to reach out to the elderly community in the rural area, bringing love, care, compassion, knowledge and skills along with technology to them. It has been challenging personally but we have never found anything more rewarding than seeing happiness in their faces, their lives being transformed, recovering in many cases their dignity and hope towards their future.

We are launching this fundraising campaign to carry out the necessary

modifications and ensure that the facilities meet the required standards, it is

essential to improve the current state of the infrastructure and to allow self- sustaining growth, whilst we continue to reach out to the wider community.

Every contribution we receive, bring us one step closer to achieving our goal of helping as many people as possible. Your support, not only backs the improvement of our facilities but also translate us into a direct impact on the lives of those who needed most.
