Jess’s plans for the future…
Donation protected
Jess is a fantastic young lady who has just had her 13th birthday (November) she has a bubbly character, a little sas and always has a smile on her face. Jess cares so much about everyone and often puts them before herself.
As most of you know, in July 2023 we received the most haunting news about our Jess “We confirm that the tumour is cancerous” I will never forget it…
Jess has spend most of the time since on Kamrans Ward in the JR hospital. She started with chemotherapy every 10 days. She was incredibly poorly throughout, always major sickness and spiking temperatures leading her straight back into hospital.
Jess had her stem cells removed and now faces a long stay in hospital on high dose chemo and a stem cell transplant.
So much rebuilding will be needed after this physically, mentally and emotionally. Jess has lots of plans, the main one is to find another pony… There’s a long, long road to recovery before this happens and lots of physio will be required along with other rebuilding.
**Update** Feb 2024
Jess has just finished a long, intense 8 week stay in hospital, sadly we were in over Christmas. Jess had the high dose chemotherapy and the stem cell transplant, which was absolutely horrific. She was so so poorly, blister/ulcers on her lips, in her mouth, down her throat right the way into her tummy. She was fed through her line as eating was impossible, her own saliva felt like it was burning her. She suffered problems with her liver and kidneys whilst going through this and is still on medication to help the healing. Jess has been so brave, it’s just so inspiring. This really just happen to anyone, let alone a child.
Jess has been trying hard to get her strength up and is walking a short distance with her frame. We really are so proud of her, she is building up the courage to post a video. Jess is eager to get going with some school work, just a few hours a week to begin with, this will be at home as she is still struggling with low counts.
We would like to thank every single one of you for your super kind donations. Jess will using this towards some private physio very soon, also she will need some exercise equipment for home, so thank you again.
If you would like to help towards any future rehabilitation and plans, we would be so grateful…
Lots of love xx
Prayers, positivity and marching on…. TeamJess
