Running 25 Miles for Motor Neurone Disease
MND is a rare condition that affects the brain and nerves, it causes the muscles to degrade and deteriorate and is fatal with a life expectancy of 1-5 years from diagnosis (though in some rare cases people can survive for longer). The MND association is a charity that uses donations to research MND with the hope of finding a cure and supports families across the UK who are currently struggling due to MND.
I am raising money for the MND association after being a carer for a wonderful woman called Lisa. She was one of the loveliest people I've ever met. Everyone who knew her would tell me about how dedicated, kind and funny she was. Unfortunately, I only met her 2 months before she passed away from MND. After seeing the effect the disease had on her and how this hurt her whole family, including her 6 year old daughter and husband, I really want to earn money for the MND association to support them with the valuable work that they do. Any donation that you are able to make would be truly appreciated, this cause really means a lot to me.
To raise awareness of this terrible condition and to support the work the MND association undertakes, I will be attempting to run 25 miles in 3 days (between 11-13 Dec). As a novice runner, it is going to be a big challenge! Please share the link to this GoFundMe page to not only help me fundraise but also increase other's awareness of this disease.
Thank you,
Imogen
