Financial Help For Nicks Funeral
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Deidra Ducharme, I'm fundraising to help get myself and my husband financial help during a hard time.
On 10/12 Nick came home from work complaining of hip pain and feeling a little swollen. By the next day his whole right leg was swollen so we went to urgent care who sent us to the hospital for a possible blood clot. That first hospital visit was unsuccessful because they don't have the equipment to check him for a blood clot due to his size. For a week we saw our regular doctor and a surgeon for a blood clot. Eliques (blood thinner) was unsuccessful and his condition kept getting worse. We ended up back at the ER where they decided to admit him and put him on a stronger blood thinner. He spent about 5 days there. He spent a few weeks at home in constant pain and his swelling was still getting worse. On 11/26 Nick was rushed to the hospital due to a vein bursting. He lost a lot of blood and had to have a blood transfusion. He also had the area stitched up and is still currently in the hospital watching his condition. Unfortunately we need some help financially due to him being off work. He's on short term disability but it barley helps with bills. We need help with bills and groceries plus gas to get him to doctor appointments. I will eventually be looking for a job to help us but right now I'm Nicks care taker. He's not able to do much on his own. Not only has all his doctors told us this will be a slow process but they also tell us this a life or death situation. We have to be very careful with everything we do. Due to his size we can't get imaging of the clot. So not only do we not know where the clot is we dont know how many he has or how big they are. If anyone is willing to help us out we would really appreciate it. Its been a scary and stressful time and I'm just hoping to have help in this area. We would appreciate it so much!
Update: Yesterday around 9:45 AM Nick passed away surrounded by loved ones. The night before he was rushed into surgery for a possible infection. What they ended up finding was a lot of cancer. He also had a few perforations from the cancer. Most of his symptoms these past few months are due to the cancer. We don't know what kind of cancer it is but hopefully will have answers soon. I will also keep people updated when his memorial service will be. Thank you to everyone who has been there for us these past few months and also to people who have reached out to me now.
