Daughter and grandkids need help

Latest, cars water pump went out, taking the vehicle with. Due to pumps location, timing chain will need adjusting. (i.e. not something we can do at home, shop required now.)

So, no vehicle in the home, in addition to below.

Howdy! I was really trying to avoid this but I’m at a loss at this point and I think it’s time to ask for help. I’m going to give you the long version of the story but the tldr is; half of my house is without power.

The long version. In August I had surgery, at the time everything was planned in advance so I would be able to recover peacefully without too many concerns. Just before my surgery I was notified by the electric company that my meter was bad and needed replacing, at my cost. This wasn’t a huge deal but it definitely set me back some. Soon after this the blower motor in my air conditioning unit went out, once again it wasn’t a huge deal but it set me back.

Shortly after my surgery my insurance company reached out and required I do a lot of minor repairs to the house (like small siding repairs and new gutters). Once again, not a huge deal but it set me back. Almost immediately after this my central air unit (the outside one) died. I need a full replacement of the external unit. I can’t afford it and luckily it’s starting to get cold and I’ll have time to save over the winter to have it replaced in the spring.

Two weeks ago my furnace died, too. That one is a $300 repair, unfortunately I don’t have it because of all the previous issues I’ve had since August. So, I settled on space heaters temporarily until I could fix it.

This week I blew a breaker in (or I thought) and lost power to half of my house. We are unable to repair it without an electrician as I need a new fuse box and new wiring to half the house. There’s no way I can afford that and I’m running the risk of blowing breakers to the other side of the house just to stay warm. My house is currently sitting at ~63 degrees and as it gets colder outside, it gets colder inside.

Like I said, I’m at a loss. I don’t qualify for any loans, I’m unable to work because I work from a computer and can’t access it without power.

At this point anything will help, I’m a single Mom with four tiny humans (who are staying with Dads) and I thought I’d set myself up to recover after surgery but 2023 just hasn’t been kind to us.
