Heath Cosby (Fernandez) & Family

Hi my name is Jo, I am here to tell you about my best friend Brittany’s husband also my close family friend Heath Cosby (Fernandez). Heath has a wonderful wife Brittany, son Solomon, daughters Rylee and Gracie (Darlyn), Mother Paula, Mother & Father in law Darlyn and Paul, sister/brother in law Niki and Joel, along with many many many more family members. Sorry if I missed anyone!

Monday afternoon November 27th, 2023, Heath was involved in a near fatal motorcycle accident. He sustained major injuries to his brain, skull, both eyes, right shoulder and many more. He was transported to Mercy Medical Center Redding where they took him into surgery to repair his shattered front skull. He had a full craniotomy and they placed his right shoulder back into place.

He was following commands and moving all four limbs, but fully sedated and intubated. He is awaiting another surgery, just one of many more to come.

I am hoping to help raise these funds for Brittany to help her take care of herself, the kids and their life at home. Including any medical care for Heath. I will be receiving the funds to help her with her finances. GoFundMe doesn’t allow P.O. Boxes so I stepped in to help since they don’t have a physical address off grid. Brittany will be given the money as the donations come in. I have known Brittany for over 10 years and she is one of the most amazing, caring, loving person I know.

Brittany works full time as a paramedic for Mt. Shasta Ambulance and raising two kids, living off grid and preparing for winter is going to be a struggle. She was recently involved in a vehicle accident 4 days prior to Heaths accident, totaling her car. She is unable to work at the moment especially to travel that far away from her husband and kids while Heath is in the ICU. Please do pray and support as you much as you can. This is going to be a financial, physical, mental and emotional struggle for her and her family.

Update as of 11/28/2023 2300, Heath is stable in the ICU at MMCR. His ICP is at 5 which is within normal limits and hopeful. He is still sedated and intubated, pain and swelling being controlled. Vital signs are looking good as he is resting and staying calm. Please keep him in you thoughts and prayers!
