Teri Lynn Wharton is currently facing a medical emergency and needs your help. On the evening of Wednesday, November 22nd, Teri left her apartment to grab a snack. As she entered the crosswalk, a suspected drunk driver hit her with his truck and fled the scene. Thankfully, witnesses were able to get medical help quickly and save her life. The driver was arrested several hours later and was taken into custody.
Teri has a long road to recovery ahead of her. Her injuries are very extensive (broken pelvis, leg, shoulder, ankle, jaw, neck, total hip replacement, in addition to spinal and nerve damage). She has had several surgeries with more scheduled.
She is bedridden and there is no way of telling if she will ever be able to walk or return to work. All of this is devastating because she loves her job and has worked at Carl's Junior in Merced for 30 years. People might also recognize her as the smiling and happy local AVON lady. She is also an aspiring children's book author.
We have started this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for Teri Lynn's expenses. We are hoping to raise enough money to cover the initial costs of hospital bills, monthly rent and other related expenses.
Any amount you can donate will be greatly appreciated. Your contribution will go a long way in helping Teri get through this difficult time. Please share this campaign with your friends and family and help us spread the word.
Thank you for your support.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Teri today at Carl's Jr. and to those who continue to support her with well-wishes, sharing her story and donations.
Carl's Jr. will be donating 25% of the sales today to Teri's recovery. It was very busy! ABC30 Action News was there and Mayor Matt Serratto even helped support Teri today, too!
If you didn't know, Teri loves traveling--especially a good road trip. Send all of the positive prayers and wishes her way. We hope she can heal and get back to traveling and normalcy.
Please feel free to visit Teri. As soon as we get the link for the news story, we'll post it.
Update 12/8:
Teri had back surgery early this week and jaw surgery last night. She is very swollen from her surgery and may have to have her jaw wired shut while it heals. They are starting to do a little physical therapy, but she is still bed ridden.
Carl's Jr. in Merced on Olive Avenue is hosting a fundraiser for her on Wednesday, December 13 from 11AM-2PM. Please come and dine for a cause. Thanks again for your donations, well-wishes, prayers and sharing Teri's story.
Update 12/4:
Teri had ankle surgery yesterday and will be having neck surgery and jaw surgery this week. We will post more information as soon as we can. Again, please keep up the prayers and well-wishes.
Update 12/1:
Teri remains in stable condition and they are moving her out of the critical care unit. She's scheduled for neck and jaw surgery next week.
Carl's Jr. in Merced will be holding a fundraiser for her on December 13th from 11am-2pm (or 3pm). A portion of the proceeds will be donated to her. We will post more information soon.
Keep up the well-wishes and message us with any questions you may have.
We thank you so much for your support and sharing of this GoFundMe!
