Help Our Team Build & Fly a NASA High-Power Rocket
Donation protected
We are raising funds to support a rocketry project which involves an 8-month long partnership with NASA for Middle/High School teams. https://www.nasa.gov/learning-resources/nasa-student-launch/
NASA accepted our Proposal in September and we recently passed the rigorous Initial Design Review step in October.
We are now working our Final Design Review which will allow us to construct and then fly our rocket at the Marshall Space Flight Center in mid-April 2024.
We are accomplishing this by learning and applying scientific/technology/math principles, engineering best practices and project skills to design, construct, fly and develop our purpose built high power rocket from our own handiwork and teamwork.
Our team is comprised of students in grades 9-11 from Eastern Connecticut and is mentored by experienced aerospace engineers. In May 2022, our rocketry team earned an invitation to participate in NASA's Student Launch Initiative (SLI) by placing 11th in the top 25 out of over 725 competitive rocketry teams in the American Rocketry Challenge. https://rocketcontest.org/
The value of participating in this donation funded program is that students learn the important aspects of managing a complex, large-scale technical project with multiple milestones that require skills such as feasibility/risk mitigation studies, time/budget management, and maintaining the viability of the project.
Your Generous Funding Support Will Provide For:
Nose Cones/Fiberglass Body Tubes and Fins
