Help us find the missing piece to our family!

Our journey to complete our family has been a long painful one to say the least. We are a blended family looking to add our final piece to complete our family!

My name is Genice, I am 37 years old. I have a son, Grayson (11 years old)from my previous marriage. I am so thankful and blessed to be his mommy I decided to give love a try again, thanks to my best friends for encouraging me to get out there and try to find love. I was so lucky I finally found my true love!We actually went to high school together, how ironic huh!? Kevin is 37 years old and has a daughter that he adopted with his ex wife. Temperance (9 years old) is one of the reasons I fell in love with him, because here was a guy who CHOSE to step up and raise a child that is not biologically his whom has a disability (cerebral palsy) and he still CHOOSES to love her and do everything he can for her to make her life better than it was We are extremely blessed to have blended our families and started trying in 2021 to add one more to our family but unfortunately things have not gone as we had planned. In 2021 we suffered miscarriages which lead to additional testing and finding out not only did I have PCOS ( Polycystic ovary syndrome ) I was diagnosed with stage 4 Endometriosis. We were devastated to say the least, the doctor told us that was one of the worst cases of Endometriosis he had ever seen. I was referred to Specialists downtown at Woman’s hospital to have surgery to repair the damage that the Endometriosis has caused. We were told that the Endometriosis was so bad that I had multiple adhesions including my ovaries (both) being stuck to my colon and it was a high possibility that I might loose my ovaries and part of my colon. We had that surgery in 12/2021 at woman’s hospital and we received the best news, the surgery was successful! The doctor was able to remove the adhesions without having to remove colon or ovaries. The doctors did tell us that there is a possibility that the fallopian tubes could be filled with Endometriosis as well but they would not be able to know that until I had a procedure called HSG ( hystersalpingography). I had to recover from the surgery before we could schedule that procedure to see if our tubes were open and clear. We received great news after the HSG, which was extremely painful for me I was certain they were going to tell us my tubes were blocked. The doctors informed us my tubes are open and clear and we had the approval to start back with fertility treatments!
We unfortunately were still not able to conceive so we decided to get Kevin tested just to make sure he was good. We found out that Kevin had male infertility issues as well, his is due to a pituitary tumor that he has had for 10 plus years. The brain tumor had caused major issues with his hormones so he had to start treatment to attempt to reverse the damage the tumor had already caused. After a year we finally got his levels up to functional levels and proceeded into our fertility journey again. I am so proud of him and his willingness to continue this journey with me. He takes 6 shots a week and multiple oral medications daily. His dedication and commitment to complete our family makes my heart so happy and gives me the strength to continue on this very painful journey. We have had 5 failed cycles on clomid and was switched to letrozole we are currently on cycle #4.
Our doctors have been amazing but have advised us that we need to prepare to explore IVF/IUI. After much deliberation, we decided that we will be open to meeting with the fertility specialist to discuss IUI or IVF treatment options. That being said we are going to be fundraising to raise money for this next chapter in our journey to complete our family

We have decided to do a puzzle fundraiser for those of you who would like to donate. We want to have a way to commemorate your support.

Please do not feel obligated to donate. Your well wishes and support are greatly appreciated.

For our fundraiser we have purchased a puzzle that has 1,000 pieces. Each piece will represent the individual/couple who donated to help us.

Here is how the fundraiser will work:
- Each puzzle piece will be $25
- You can choose to buy as many pieces as you would like. There is no limit.
-Your name will be written on the back of each piece
-If you buy several pieces, we can also include a message from you written next to your name.
Along with your donation, please let us know the name or name(s) you would like on your piece(s).

Once our puzzle has been completed, we will frame it and hang it in our future nursery. This will be a beautiful keepsake for us to cherish forever. We will always look back and be reminded of your generosity and love for our family!

You will be a part of completing the missing piece to our puzzle!
