Support Zoë Rice's Olympic Hopes Journey

Hi, my name is Zoë Rice and I am a competitive sprint kayaker. For 3 years I have been paddling for the River Town Racers flat water kayak team in my little home town of Petaluma, CA. At the beginning of the summer, I put my skills to the test at the US team trials in Seattle, WA, where I qualified for Team USA! On September 13, I will be flying to Szeged, Hungary, to participate in the Olympic Hopes Regatta (OHR). Ahead of this race, I hope to travel to Oklahoma City to train with a renowned coach and former Olympian kayaker to hone my technique and build strength to improve my speed and times, preparing me to be a formidable international competitor. I recently competed in the National sprint regatta at Olympic Park on Lake Lanier in Georgia. I participated in a total of 9 races and finished with 8 gold medals and 1 silver. I anticipate fierce competition in Hungary, but will do my best representing Team USA!

My bio: I live in Petaluma, CA with my family of 6- my mom, dad, brother, and our two dogs. I’m 14 years old and entering my freshman year at Petaluma High School. I have been involved with leadership and am in ASB this coming year. I strive to maintain academic excellence and am in all honors classes. I believe work ethic is the key to success, practicing before and after school and multiple times daily during the summer. I have been training nonstop to achieve the goals I have set for myself… and I’m hoping you can help me reach my next one!
