Karen’s Lung Cancer Battle

Karen is a person who is loved and cherished by many. She’s a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, wife, aunt, friend and so much more to so many people. She’s worked hard her whole life and recently retired from her life long career. To remain busy and active, she chose to work doing something she loved - Instacart! Unfortunately, she has received some devastating news in regards to her health. She has been diagnosed with stage 4 Small Cell Lung Cancer. With her diagnosis and further testing, they discovered lesions on her skull and liver - meaning the cancer has traveled from her lung to other areas of her body. She has quite the fight ahead of her. The radiation specialist has developed a plan to begin radiation very soon and she will be meeting with her oncologist to develop a plan for treatment beyond radiation. This likely means chemotherapy and immunotherapy. All of these treatments are likely going to make it difficult for her to work and bring in her normal income. We are asking to help her go through treatment with a little less stress by taking away any financial burden or hardship that may come. We know the road ahead may not be easy, but we are going to remain strong and help her fight along the way! If you can help us through her battle, we will be forever grateful!

11/30 update: she’s been fitted for her radiation cap and they are working on a schedule for radiation. We see the oncologist/hematologist Monday and will post further then!
