ATAXIA What is taken for granted, does't apply me.

Hi!
My name is Malin and this is my life with ataxia. I live in sweden.

In November 2023, I had the opportunity to try a suit like a tight training overall that will stimulate different muscles so that nerve signals come through more easily. Mollisuit Exopulse Mollii Suit | Reduces spasticity and activates muscles https://www.ottobock.com/sv-se/product/28XP1000

After sitting in the suit for an hour, I had to go up the stairs. Before the stimulation I could barely get up the stairs but as if by a miracle with this super suit as I call it.I was able to go up the stairs very easily. Even my twitchiness was gone I barely made it up the stairs before the stimulation. Absolutely miraculous! Wonderfully!
I have ataxia which means lack of order. It is a neurological condition that involves difficulty coordinating voluntary muscle movements. This is due to damage to the central nervous system. There are several different ataxic diseases. Ataxias are characterized by unsteady, jerky or exaggerated movements. Examples are unsteady legs and difficulty keeping balance, difficulty touching the mouth when eating, slurred speech or jerky eye movements.I have all theese things butI have brain fatigue and have a lot of spatiality in my body. My balance is very bad. has slurred speech and can't write anymore, even my name. With the suit on it made it lmuch better.

I was diagnosed in 2012 and ended up in a wheelchair in 2019 and stopped working as a teacher in 2020 with the pandemic. I was ashamed of my condition and have isolated myself. I don't want to show how my condition has become.
When I had the opportunity to try a new innovation, a wetsuit, which stimulates the larger muscle groups. For example, which prevents the jerky movements I have and allows me to lift my legs.

My mother found out about the outfit through an insider on social media. The suit is very expensive and costs SEK 77,000
A small contribution to be able to buy this suit would have been like a dream, to get back the freedom you once had cannot be described in words.

So a thousand thanks to those of you who support, you are worth your weight in gold.

To all of you with some form of mobility impairment. Continue fight!
